A: The NHCC Corporate Executive Development Program is unique in that it target high potential Hispanic managers who are on the cusp of moving forward in their careers. It’s a one-year long experience that also includes on-going mentorship and coaching from high-level executives at Fortune 1000 companies. This coupled with our partnership with SMU Cox allows us to offer a one of a kind leadership development program.
A: The NHCC is a non-profit organization that was founded by Corporate America to meet the needs of Corporate America. Our goal is to deliver tools that enable Corporate America to reach the Hispanic market. HACR is an advocacy organization that is led by 16 Hispanic organizations that aims to advance the inclusion of Hispanics in Corporate America at a level that commensurate with their economic contributions.
There is a lot of work to be done to increase Hispanic representation in Corporate American and we feel that both organizations complement each other’s work.
A: We know from studies that gaps in representation continue to exist within U.S. companies. Hispanics are significantly underrepresented in executive and senior executive positions. Hispanics are the fastest growing demographics in the country. Through this program, we’d like to be a resource to help both Hispanic managers and companies work together to address this disparity.
A: We did our homework. We consulted with HR trade associations as well as senior ranking HR executives at corporations to help us design this training program. The NHCC-CEDP will not only provide Hispanic managers with tools and capacity-building strategies but will also connect them with high-level executives at Corporations who will serve as mentors.
A: Our goal is to target high-potential Hispanic managers who are on the cusp of moving forward in their careers. It aims to give high-potential and top-performing managers who are seeking their first executive management role the tools to move up to higher positions.
A: We thought it was important to partner with a university who could help us develop the
infrastructure and curriculum for the program. The NHCC selected SMU because of its
national reputation and strategic location.
