Facility Manager - Management
Participant in Classs of 2011
Tony Padilla is currently the Facility Manager responsible for all outbound/inbound operations at OfficeMax
Western Distribution Center located in Las Vegas, NV.
Prior to join Office Max Tony was the General Manager for Excel Logistics 3PL responsible for operations of
the Wal‐Mart Return Center in Las Vegas Nevada. Tony has also worked for TJ/Marshalls Distribution
Center as a Processing Manager.
Tony is a 20 year Marine Veteran who served during the first Gulf War and Somalia campaign; he has over
15 years of experience in Supply Chain. He is married with three young ladies from a previous marriage
who have all graduated college and live in California. He met his wife in Washington DC and has three
children Christian 16, AJ 6 and Carina 4.
Tony strongly believes in development through strong leadership practices and attributes his success thus
far in life to his ability to lead and influence others. Tony has never really thought of joining the ranks of
Executive VP however, he believes he can run an organization if the opportunity arises.
Phase 2 complimented Phase 1 very well, with P1 concentrating more on individual leadership and development,
P2 focused on utilizing these strengths to build and lead high performance teams at a higher level.
What I appreciate the most is having the understanding of what is expected at the executive levels in terms of
leading teams for the good of the institution. This is the first time I have experienced training where you have to
think like an executive rather than a mid‐level manager.
I will apply this additional knowledge by continuing to coach and develop my team to be “Better leaders” utilizing
the same type of materials and lessons we’re using at this program. Session 3
Overall the program delivered powerful insights on how to maximize my contribution to the success of the
company and career. My intent is to become more involved outside the 4 walls of the operation by supporting
Diversity/Business Programs both within the company and community. A key point covered during our final
session was the significance of being an ambassador of the company within the community and its positive
impact it can have on the business. Additionally, I believe the program is valuable for the company and the
development of other OfficeMax candidates. I look forward to future endeavors, and will forward pictures of the
graduation once I receive them.
