National Hispanic Corporate Council Names Nextel Communications Official Wireless Service Provider
Arlington, Va. – January 12, 2005 – The National Hispanic Corporate Council (NHCC) today announced Nextel Communications Inc., a leading provider of digital wireless communications, as its official wireless service provider. NHCC chose Nextel for its 4-in-1 technology capability of digital cellular voice, Nextel Mobile Messaging, Nextel Online® services and Direct Connect®, the coast-to-coast and international digital walkie-talkie service. Nextel, an NHCC member corporation, will provide wireless phones and service for the organization to manage its day-to-day operations, two annual member meetings and its 20th anniversary gala in 2005.
Nextel’s all-digital network will allow fast and efficient communication among NHCC staff and its 60-member corporations who rely on NHCC as a Hispanic corporate resource.
“NHCC seeks out strategic partners to help increase the leadership and employment opportunities for Hispanics in corporate America,” said Carlos Soto, president and CEO. “During our last member meeting Nextel’s Nationwide Direct Connect SM service greatly enhanced the ability for NHCC staff and its board members to stay in constant instant communication. It was our most successful member meeting.”
“The NHCC partnership is an important one for us to showcase the unique wireless business solutions Nextel can provide,” said Jon Munoz, director of Hispanic marketing for Nextel Communications and NHCC in-coming chairman. “Nextel understands the high value the corporate community places on communication, and our Direct Connect® service is the only true instant communication tool that reaches across the borders of cities, states and even countries allowing NHCC staff to connect without interruption or delay.”
