NATIONAL HISPANIC CORPORATE COUNCIL CONFERS ON MARKETING AND RECRUITING IN THE HISPANIC COMMUNITY
Arlington, Va., March 22, 2005 – The National Hispanic
Corporate Council, celebrating twenty years of service to
corporate America, will hold its member meeting entitled,
“Reaching the Hispanic Community through Marketing and
Recruiting,” March 29-31, 2005 in New Orleans, LA. Presentations
by domain experts will cover the changing Hispanic demographics
and their impact on corporate strategies in marketing and
recruiting. The conference will be held at the JW Marriott.
Major conference sponsors are ConAgra Foods, Inc. and Wal-Mart
Stores, Inc.
Among the key speakers will be Linda Workman, Vice President,
and Workforce Effectiveness for ConAgra Foods, Inc. Workman
will share ConAgra’s philosophy of reaching their market
through partnerships with their employees and the communities
they serve. Esther Silver-Parker, Vice President Diversity
Relations for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. will address the importance
of recruiting Hispanics to corporate positions and creating
an environment for development and advancement. Aida Levitan,
PhD, APR will present demographics and segmentation information
on the community. A panel comprised of Aida Levitan, Gene
Bryan, CEO, HispanicAd.com and Ray Celaya, Assistant Vice
President, Allstate Insurance Company will debate the pros
and cons of “folding” the Hispanic marketing function
into the general marketing group. David Gomez, President and
CEO of Gomez & Associates, will address the group on the
topic of recruiting Hispanics to executive positions. Francisca
Martinez, Sr. Director Talent & Organizational Development
for the Ritz Carlton Corporation will focus on retention by
building a strong mentoring and executive leadership program.
Robert Bard, publisher of Latina Style Magazine, will share
the criteria and methodology used by his publication in selecting
the “50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work for in The
U. S.”
The conference will conclude with a visit by NHCC Representatives
to Warren Easton Senior High School. NHCC’s Stay In-School
Program, established in 1997, brings together high school
students and corporate executives to discuss opportunities
in the corporate world and the importance of pursuing a higher
education. Representatives include Allstate’s Ray Celaya,
Yolanda, Casey, Project Manager, Hallmark Cards, Inc., Maria
Valentin, Community Affairs Consultant, ConAgra Foods, Inc.,

NHCC will celebrate its 20th Anniversary with a Gala to be
held following their member conference in Chicago, October
5-7. The Gala will be held at Chicago’s Union Station,
