The Director, Diversity and Inclusion develops, implements, and evaluates diversity/equal employment opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action programs to ensure compliance with government legislation and organization goals. The Director, Diversity and Inclusion requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

Against that backdrop, Humana is seeking an accomplished Director of Inclusion & Diversity. The Director will be responsible for supporting and executing against the Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) strategic framework in pursuit of the company’s goals.
The Director, Inclusion & Diversity will be based at our headquarters in Louisville, KY and will require relocation. Relocation assistance will be provided
Lead strategy development, I&D initiatives, and implementation through partnership with the assigned management teams and I&D councils
Work closely with aligned business partners to develop goals, action plans, communication strategies and key initiatives. Develop reporting tools and dashboards to monitor progress.
Develop corporate I&D learning strategy to ensure that I&D is integrated into all learning and development programs. Work with decentralized learning teams aligned to the business to identify gaps and opportunities to improve I&D acumen.
Identify and manage local and regional external partnerships, diversity associations.
Lead the evolution of Inclusion Councils to support the Executive I&D Council agenda
Partner with Human Capital Analytics to create data and analytics long term strategy. Develop near-real time dashboards and self-service tools and reporting for the organization. Partner to develop advanced methods used to predict, monitor, and assess effectiveness I&D focused programs.
Conceptualize and develop long range strategies to elevate Humana’s effort an inclusive culture and sustain organizational progress
Integration of I&D into HR key initiatives and programs
Attraction, retention and development of an diverse workforce
Developing plans to improve internal inclusion and external benchmarking survey results
Conducting Associate Focus Groups
Drawing meaningful insights from data to create strategy, tell a narrative and operationalize solutions
Partner with the HR organization to design, develop, and integrate key I&D solutions into HR recruitment and development processes
Coach, develop, and lead two direct reports.
Key Deliverables (12-18 month timeframe)
Create robust and meaningful dashboards and analytics capabilities to enable the effective monitoring of I&D progress and attainment of key goals.
Lay the foundation for a large-scale, multi-year Conscious Inclusion and Bias Awareness training program.
Key Candidate Qualifications
Successful candidates will have extensive experience leading enterprise-scale I&D-focused initiatives, developing and monitoring programs, and driving organizational change. They will also have a highly collaborative mindset, excellent relationship-building skills, and a record of success in influencing leaders and key stakeholders on issues involving I&D.
In addition, the following qualifications and personal attributes are sought:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration (Master’s preferred)
Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences and positive representation of Humana in external forums.
Proven record of success in driving the use of a data/analytics-driven approach to measure the effectiveness of I&D initiatives, monitor enterprise progress, and identify gaps that need to be addressed from an I&D perspective
Experience in a large (Fortune 200) company with a complex organizational structure
Well-versed on emerging trends in the Inclusion and Diversity field
