The Diversity & Inclusion Program Manager is responsible for leading efforts to conceptualize, define, assess, nurture, and cultivate diversity as a strategic business process. Collaborates and engages with leadership and stakeholder groups to ensure that ‘ownership’ of diversity and inclusion is maintained and executed throughout the organization. Serves as the subject matter expert and advisor to leadership on diversity management and inclusive practices and leads the integration of diversity and inclusion principles into American Family’s culture. The position is accountable to develop, implement and monitor strategies that promote diversity and inclusion within American Family Insurance.

Specialized Knowledge & Skill Requirements
Demonstrated experience delivering customer-driven solutions, support or service
Demonstrated experience working with leaders to understand business strategies and their impact on people, policies and processes
Demonstrated experience counseling and consulting to guide strategic business decisions across multiple levels of management
Demonstrated experience analyzing data to draw meaningful conclusions and develop recommendations
Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a program leadership role, develop consensus from a diverse work group and influence others to action

Develops and communicates a thorough understanding of diversity and inclusion strategies with accountability for driving desired D&I outcomes in alignment with organizational initiatives.
Advises business partners and leadership on the results of key diversity and inclusion benchmarking, metrics and research.
Provides D&I linkage for all business partners during the operational planning process and defines the business case and roadmap to achieve diversity and inclusion strategic goals.
Creates and presents business cases and actionable recommendations to leadership based upon insights of relevant industry and environmental factors.
Provide coaching to business partners to improve diverse representation and build inclusion. Develops and communicates the impact of solutions upon future business results.
Provides advice and guidance to leadership on best practices associated with leading employees from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and aligns inclusion initiatives with organizational mission, goals, strategies and metrics.
Reviews and collaborates with adjacent processes (recruitment, marketing, communications, etc.) to ensure a diversity and inclusion lens is applied to current practices. Assimilates key diversity and inclusion strategies to ensure alignment and synergies across organizational policies/programs.
Serves as liaison and manages activities related to Executive Diversity Council initiatives ensuring activities are aligned with diversity and inclusion goals and objectives.
Conducts periodic internal environmental assessments and develops action plans to address issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Leads projects and programs that impact diversity representation, inclusion culture, customer experience and supplier strategy.
Leads others toward the identification of valid root causes of business issues. Provides consulting and expertise to divisional leaders on strategies to address gaps and opportunities.
Provides direction and guidance to business resource groups (BRGs). Serves as a liaison between the BRGs, Executive Diversity Champions and executive sponsors.
